Part 3
TO PROFOUNDLY IMPACT THE LIVES OF DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN THROUGH THE GIFTS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENT DONATION, INSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE. OUR PRIMARY OUTREACH IS A 5TH GRADE BAND PROGRAM IN TITLE 1 SCHOOLS. THE ASPECT THAT MAKES US DIFFERENT IS THAT, WHILE LEARNING TO PLAY, WE PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EACH STUDENT TO EARN AN INSTRUMENT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND. WE HAVE DEVELOPED AN EFFICIENT OPERATIONAL MODEL TO BRING INSTRUMENTS AND INSTRUCTION TO THEIR SCHOOL. WE HAVE ALSO DEVELOPED THE INSTRUMENTS OF CHANGE CURRICULUM TO ALLOW FOR GREATER LONG-TERM SUCCESS FOR THE STUDENTS. THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS WE HAVE SEEN STUDENTS FROM TITLE 1 SCHOOLS GO ON TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS IN MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL AND NOW INTO COLLEGE ON FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIPS BECAUSE OF THEIR MUSIC. OUR 2022 IOC BAND PROGRAMS WERE HELD AT THE STUDENTS SCHOOL ELIMINATING THE NEED TO TRAVEL TO THE PROGRAM. THE REQUIRED CLASSES MEET AFTER SCHOOL TWICE EACH WEEK, FOR ONE HOUR EACH DAY, FROM SEPTEMBER TO MAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SCHOOL YEAR.
