IN-STUDIO CLASSES-C2D PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE DANCE INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS FACING OVER 20 DIFFERENT DISABILITIES. THIS INCLUDES GROUP AND PRIVATE LESSONS ENCOMPASSING MORE THAN 735 CLASSES IN THEIR SENSORY-FRIENDLY MAITLAND DANCE STUDIO. THE CURRICULUM SPANS CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASSES FOR YOUNGER STUDENTS TO MORE SPECIALIZED STYLES AS THEY AGE. FOR DANCERS AGED 11 AND ABOVE, THE MOVEZ PROGRAM ALLOWS THEM TO CONCENTRATE ON BALLET, JAZZ, HIP HOP, OR TAP. THIS TIERED,GOAL-FOCUSED PROGRAM GUIDES DANCERS THROUGH SEVEN LEVELS OF EACH DANCE GENRE,WITH BI-ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONIES RECOGNIZING NEWLY LEARNED AND MASTERED STEPS. ALL STUDIO STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF AGE OR ABILITY, HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE THEIR TALENTS IN WINTER AND SPRING SHOWCASES.
PARTNERSHIP CLASSES-C2D EXTENDS ITS INCLUSIVE DANCE CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS INTO THE CENTRAL FLORIDA COMMUNITY THROUGH 557 CLASSES HELD ANNUALLY VIA CONTRACTUAL PARTNERSHIPS. THESE PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDE COLLABORATIONS WITH PRIVATE, CHARTER, AND PREP SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS MUNICIPALITIES, CHURCHES, VOCATIONAL LOCATIONS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. BY DOING SO, C2D SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES ACCESS TO THE ARTS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPRING SHOWCASE, WHICH IS PERFORMED IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 400 PEOPLE.
PERFORMANCE TEAM-DANCERS WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE MAY AUDITION FOR THE PERFORMANCE TEAM OR JUNIOR PERFORMANCE TEAM TO ADVANCE THEIR KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCES, AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITES AS OFFERED IN A TRADITIONAL DANCE COMPANY. THE PERFORMANCE TEAM UNDERGOES TRAINING TO PREPARE FOR TWO ANNUAL REGIONAL COMPETITIONS AND NUMEROUS COMMUNITY EVENTS. PERFORMANCES TAKE PLACE IN CUSTOM-MADE SENSORY-FRIENDLY COSTUMES AND ARE HELD AT VARIOUS THEATERS AND VENUE LOCATIONS.
