ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOP ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR ETHNIC MINORITIES IN THE STATE OF OREGON AND SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON STATE AND THEREBY REDUCING RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION.

OAME PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SUPPORT TO MINORITY, WOMEN AND EMERGING SMALL BUSINESSES FREE OF CHARGE. IN 2021, THERE WERE MORE THAN 325 INDIVIDUAL BUSINESSES THAT OAME PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO, REPRESENTING 2,300 HOURS OF SERVICE. IN ADDITION OAME WAS IN CONTACT WITH MORE THAN SMALL BUSINESSES DURING THE YEAR. OAME ENABLED EMERGING BUSINESS TO GROW AND HIRE WHILE CREATING WEALTHTO THOSE NORMALLY UNDER PRIVILEGED. OAME PROVIDES TRAINING FOR STAFF ANDFOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS IN BOOKKEEPING, PLANNING,MANAGEMENT, MARKETING,SOFTWARE AND COMMUNICATIONS. OAME CONTINUED TO DISTRIBUTE COVID SAFETY SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS TO MANY OF THE BUSINESS IT SERVES.
YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM ALLOWED SELECTED YOUTHTO GAIN DIRECT RETAIL AND BUSINESS OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE.IN 2021 OAME HELD AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY WHERE MORE THAN 20 YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN TEAMS TO CREATE A COMPLETE BUSINESS PLAN.THE PLANS ARE THEN REVIEWED BY AN EXPERTPANEL OF JUDGES AND WINNERS ARE AWARDED.
OAME HELD THEIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND TRADE SHOW VIRTUALY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. WHERE 180 PERSONS ATTENDED THE INFORMATIONAL WORKING LUNCH. DURING THE YEAR MORE THAN 130 PERSONS ATTENDED THE VIRTUAL REGULAR COFFEE AND ISSUES, AND VETERANS'FORUMS, WHERE RELEVANT INFORMATION IS EXCHANGED.
