CREATE CA IS PLEASED TO PRESENT A REPORT ON OUR MAJOR PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS. ARTS NOW COMMUNITIESTHROUGH THE ARTS NOW COMMUNITIES PROGRAM, CREATE CA SUPPORTED 39 LOCAL COALITIONS WHICH MAKE UP OUR STATEWIDE NETWORK OF ARTS EDUCATION ADVOCATES. ARTS NOW PROVIDES PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, LEADERSHIP TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT AND STIPENDS TO HELP PURSUE LOCAL ADVOCACY OBJECTIVES. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO INCREASE PUBLIC FUNDING FOR, ACCESS TO AND PARTICIPATION IN ARTS EDUCATION, REGARDLESS OF ZIP CODE, RACE, GENDER, ETHNICITY OR SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS.
STUDENT VOICES PROGRAMTHE STUDENT VOICES PROGRAM BRINGS TOGETHER 7TH-12TH GRADE STUDENTS TO EXPLORE THE POTENTIAL FOR ORGANIZING AND ACTIVISM. CREATE CA ADMINISTERED AN ONLINE INTERNSHIP IN WHICH STUDENTS WORKED CREATIVELY AND COLLABORATIVELY TO CREATE CHANGE IN THEIR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES. IN ADDITION, STUDENT VOICES OPENED AN ANNUAL ART MAKING AND ADVOCACY CHALLENGE FOR STUDENTS LOOKING TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGE IN THEIR SCHOOL COMMUNITY. DURING THIS PERIOD, CREATE CA PARTNERED WITH GLADEO AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO LAUNCH A NEW WEBSITE FOCUSED ON CAREER PATHWAYS AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR CALIFORNIA STUDENTS.
PUBLIC WILL CAMPAIGN AND OTHER SPECIAL PROJECTS CREATE CA'S STATEWIDE PUBLIC WILL CAMPAIGN INFLUENCES DECISION MAKERS AND INCREASES ACCESS AND PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTS. THE GOAL OF THE CAMPAIGN IS TO ACHIEVE A FUNDAMENTAL CULTURE SHIFT IN WHICH ALL COMMUNITIES UNDERSTAND, VALUE AND ALLOCATE PUBLIC FUNDS TO ARTS EDUCATION. THE PUBLIC WILL CAMPAIGN CONTINUES TO GAIN FOLLOWERS AND SUPPORTERS WITH OUR NEWSLETTER LIST NOW REACHING OVER 18,000 INDIVIDUALS AND SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS TOPPING 14,000. CREATE CA HOSTED AND CO-HOSTED TEN VIRTUAL EVENTS DURING THIS PERIOD AND PROVIDED ADVOCACY TRAINING TO A TOTAL OF 285 INDIVIDUALS.
