THE CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE OFFICERS (CACVSO IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION OF LOCALLY, COUNTY-FUNDED AGENCIES. IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1945 TO ASSIST VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN OBTAINING BENEFITS, SERVICES, AND ENTITLEMENTS EARNED THROUGH MILITARY SERVICE. CACVSO IS AN EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION WHICH FOSTERS COLLABORATION AMONG CALIFORNIA'S VETERANS SERVICE OFFICERS (CVSOS)AND PROVIDES A NETWORK OF RESOURCES THROUGH WHICH ADVOCACY AND CLAIMS ASSISTANCE FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IS OPTIMIZED. REGULAR SCHEDULED TRAINING AND CONFERENCES SUPPORT AND EDUCATE ALL MEMBERS ON US DEPT. OF VETERANS AFFAIRS LAWS, PROCEDURES, AND PROCESSES.
THE CACVSO PROMOTES ADHERENCE TO STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATION AND CONSISTENTLY COLLABORATES WITH LEGISLATORS AT THESE LEVELS TO IMPROVE AND INTRODUCE POLICIES SUPPORTIVE OF VETERANS' RIGHTS, NEEDS, AND BENEFITS/ENTITLEMENTS. THE CACVSO ACCOMPLISHES THIS THROUGH UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORTING OUR NATIONAL OBLIGATIONS TO VETERANS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES. THE CACVSO FURTHER PROVIDES A PLATFORM OF COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION FOR THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, BEST PRACTICES, TRAINING, AND SUPPORT TO FACILITATE THE MOST EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT TO CALIFORNIA'S MORE THAN TWO MILLION VETERANS.
THE CACVSO RECOGNIZED THE IMPORTANCE AND MERIT OF CONGRESSIONALLY CHARTERED VETERAN SERVICES ORGANIZATION. THE CACVSO IS COMMITTED TO MAINTAINING A COLLABORATIVE, MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ORGANIZATIONS AS THIS SERVES TO THE ADVANTAGE OF ALL VETERANS.
