INSTALLATION AND HOSTING OF VARIOUS ART MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS, HISTORY MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS AND ONE SPECIAL EVENT - THE HISTORIC HOMES TOUR. PROVIDING INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES IN ART AND HISTORY THROUGH ART LECTURE SERIES AND ADULT LIFE DRAWING CLASSES. EXHIBITIONS INCLUDE THE WORK OF LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS WITH A STRONG INTEREST IN ARTISTS FROM THE SOUTH BAY AND GREATER SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA.
PROVIDING EDUCATION THROUGH THE MUSEUM EXPLORER PROGRAM WHICH ALLOWS CHILDREN TO EXAMINE, EXPERIENCE AND UNDERSTAND ARTWORK ON AN INTIMATE LEVEL. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED IN ACCORDNCE WITH CALIFORNIA STATE CURRICULUM STANDARDS TO PROVIDE INSTRUCTION ON THE ELEMENTS OF ART INCLUDING STYLE, MEDIA AND PROCESS. IT MEETS CURRICULUM STANDARDS IN LANGUAGE ARTS, SOCIAL STUDIES, AND ART. THE PROGRAM SERVES OVER 1,000 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN, GRADES K THROUGH 5, IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE PROVIDED TO TITLE 1 SCHOOLS. IN THE SUMMER, THE MUSEUM OF LOS GATOS PARTNERS WITH YOUTH SCIENCE INSTITUTE AND VASONA PARK TO BRING STUDENTS TO THE HISTORY MUSEUM FOR TOURS, DEMONSTRATIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.
