EMANUEL MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1972. CHARITABLE GIFTS TO THE FOUNDATION ADVANCE THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OF LEGACY EMANUEL MEDICAL CENTER WITH THE GOAL OF IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE REGION.LEGACY EMANUEL MEDICAL CENTER PROVIDES ACUTE AND TERTIARY CARE TO THE CITY AND THE REGION. FOUNDED IN 1912 BY THE LUTHERAN CHURCH, THE HOSPITAL IS RECOGNIZED AS A MEDICAL PACESETTER AND IS WELL KNOWN FOR ITS TRAUMA, EMERGENCY AND INTENSIVE CARE PROGRAMS. LEGACY EMANUEL IS ALSO THE LARGEST PROVIDER OF HOSPITAL CHARITY CARE IN THE REGION.
