SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF KLAMATH FALLS IS DEDICATED TO COMMUNITY SERVICE WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR WOMEN. AS PART OF SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF THE AMERICAS WE SUPPORT THE LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARDS PROGRAM LOCALLY, REGIONALLY AND AT OUR FEDERATION LEVELS. THIS AWARD PROGRAM PROVIDES CASH GRANTS FOR WOMEN SEEKING TO IMPROVE THEIR ECONOMIC SITUATION THROUGH ADDITIONAL EDUCATION. DIRECT BENEFIT RECIPIENTS OF OUR FUND RAISING EFFORTS ALSO INCLUDE: KLAMATH-LAKE COUNTY FOOD BANK,MISS KLAMATH COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, OREGON INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, START MAKING A READER TODAY (SMART)PROGRAM, CASA, FRIENDS OF THE CHILDREN, MEALS ON WHEELS, AND SOLID GROUND. WE ALSO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL CHILDREN TO PARTICIPATE IN PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE LEARNING,LEADERSHIP, GOOD VALUES AND GOOD CITIZENSHIP. THE BENEFITS FROM MOST OF THESE PROGRAMS ARE IMMEASURABLE IN NATURE, AS WE STRIVE TO EDUCATE AND ADVOCATE AWARENESS IN ISSUES SUCH AS BREAST CANCER, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE,LITERACY AND OTHER ISSUES AFFECTING WOMEN IN OUR COMMUNITY.
