IRAN: DURING THE YEAR ENDED MAY 31, 2022, CHILD FOUNDATION ("THE ORGANIZATION") CONTINUED TO SUPPORT DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN IN IRAN NEEDING ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO STAY IN SCHOOL. THE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WERE IDENTIFIED BY A SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY IN IRAN, BONYAD E KOODAK, AND THEN REFERRED TO CHILD FOUNDATION. AT MAY 31, 2022, CHILD FOUNDATION HAD APPROXIMATELY 8,302 ACTIVE CHILD SPONSORSHIPS IN IRAN.
AFGHANISTAN: DURING THE YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION MATCHED SUPPORTERS (BOTH IN THE UNITED STATES AND OTHER COUNTRIES) OF DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN IN AFGHANISTAN WHO NEEDED ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO STAY IN SCHOOL. CHILD FOUNDATION ALSO CONTINUED TO RUN A PROGRAM FOR THALASSEMIA AWARENESS AND SUPPORT. AT MAY 31, 2022, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 1,030 ACTIVE SPONSORSHIPS.
NEPAL, INDONESIA, CAMBODIA & INDIA: THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO SUPPORT NEEDY CHILDREN IN NEPAL, INDONESIA, CAMBODIA AND INDIA, ENABLING THEM TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION. AT MAY 31, 2022, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 48 ACTIVE SPONSORSHIPS IN NEPAL, INDONESIA, AND CAMBODIA.
CHILD FOUNDATION STAFF IN THE UNITED STATES MATCHED SPONSORS AND DONORS FROM THE UNITED STATES AND MANY OTHER COUNTRIES IN SUPPORTING CHILDREN NEEDING ASSISTANCE. CHILD FOUNDATION STAFF SUPPORTED THESE RELATIONSHIPS BY FACILITATING COMMUNICATION BETWEEN SPONSORS AND CHILDREN. THEY ALSO ENSURED THAT RESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS WERE USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH DONOR DIRECTIVES, AND THAT SPONSORS WERE INFORMED AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR OF THEIR SPONSOREES' PROGRESS IN SCHOOL. CHILD FOUNDATION ALSO ASSISTED WITH THE MEDICAL EXPENSES FOR SURGERIES AND OTHER MEDICAL TREATMENTS FOR INDIVIDUAL CHILDREN WHO WERE REFERRED BY ITS PARTNER SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES. WHEN EARTHQUAKES AND OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS OCCURED, CHILD FOUNDATION ORGANIZED SUPPORT AND SENT RELIEF TO THE AFFECTED AREAS THROUGH ITS PARTNER AGENCIES. THESE AIDS WERE FOCUSED ON REBUILDING SCHOOLS AND PROVIDING SCHOOL SUPPLIES.
