KIDS FIRST (KF) SERVES AS LANE COUNTY'S CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER (CAC). KF PROVIDES INTERVENTION AND ADVOCACY TO OVER 800 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES EACH YEAR FOR CONCERNS OF SEXUAL ABUSE, PHYSICAL ABUSE, NEGLECT, AND WITNESS TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OR OTHER VIOLENT CRIME. CHILD ABUSE ASSESSMENTS INCLUDE FORENSIC MEDICAL EVALUATIONS, CHILD FORENSIC INTERVIEWS, VICTIM ADVOCACY, AS WELL AS THERAPY SERVICES AND GRAND JURY HEARINGS ON SITE. KF RECENTLY LAUNCHED AN EVIDENCE-BASED THERAPY PROGRAM TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY. OUR VISION IS TO MINIMIZE THE TRAUMA OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WHO'VE EXPERIENCED CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT THROUGH MULTIDISCIPLINARY INTERVENTION, ADVOCACY, SUPPORT, AND STRONG COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS.
