ANNUAL WILLAMETTE VALLEY EVENTS - THE ASSOCIATION SPONSORS TWO ANNUAL EVENTS TO PROMOTE WILLAMETTE VALLEY WINES AND IMAGE AS THE PREMIER WINE-PRODUCING REGION IN THE STATE OF OREGON. PARTICIPATING WINERIES SPONSOR AN OPEN HOUSE EVENT TO ENCOURAGE CUSTOMERS TO TOUR THE WINE COUNTRY. CUSTOMERS ARE CONTACTED BY DIGITAL ADVERTISING. THESE EVENTS ARE FUNDED BY FEES PAID BY PARTICIPATING MEMBER WINERIES. THE TWO EVENTS THAT OCCURRED IN 2021 WERE A MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENT AND A THANKSGIVING WEEKEND EVENT.
WILLAMETTE: THE PINOT NOIR AUCTION - ON AUGUST 5, 2021, THE ASSOCIATION PRESENTED ITS ANNUAL TRADE AUCTION WHICH SHOWCASED ONE-OF-A-KIND LOTS OF HANDCRAFTED WINES FOR AN ELITE, TRADE-ONLY AUDIENCE. FUNDS CONTRIBUTED BY VARIOUS SPONSORS WERE USED TO DEVELOP THE EVENT. THE EVENT WAS HELD IN-PERSON DURING 2021.
OREGON PINOT CAMP - THE ASSOCIATION HOSTS OREGON PINOT CAMP, AN INVITATION-ONLY ANNUAL GATHERING BRINGING MORE THAN 270 WINE PROFESSIONALS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO OREGON FOR A LONG WEEKEND OF EDUCATION AND COLLABORATION WITH 50 OREGON WINERIES. SELECT RETAILERS, SOMMELIERS AND SALES REPRESENTATIVES ENJOY AN INTIMATE, RIGOROUS AND FIRSTHAND ACCOUNT OF OREGON WINE, HEIGHTENING BRAND AWARENESS AND EXTENDING THE REACH OF LOCAL WINES ONTO BOTTLE SHOP SHELVES AND RESTAURANT LISTS AROUND THE WORLD. THIS EVENT IS FUNDED BY CAMPER FEES AND PARTICIPATING WINERY MEMBER FEES. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, THIS EVENT WAS CANCELED FOR 2021.
