CENTER OPERATIONS - THE ORGANIZATION'S MEAL SITES HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PROVIDING A HOT NOON MEAL AND PROGRAMMING FOR SOCIALIZATION FOR SENIORS LIVING WITHIN THEIR GEOGRAPHIC AREA. NUTRITION SERVICES INCLUDE GROUP DINING ON SITE AND MEALS DELIVERED TO HOMEBOUND CLIENTS (MEALS-ON-WHEELS). CONGREGATE MEALS PROVIDED TOTALED APPROXIMATELY 5,400 FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022. CENTERS ARE LOCATED IN A VARIETY OF SETTINGS, INCLUDING SENIOR CENTERS, MULTICULTURAL CENTERS, HOUSING AUTHORITY BUILDINGS, PARKS AND RECREATION BUILDINGS, AND CHURCHES.IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING MEALS, CENTERS COOPERATE WITH OTHER COMMUNITY AGENCIES TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENRICHMENT TO THE LIVES OF SENIORS THROUGH ACTIVITIES, SPEAKERS, FIELD TRIPS, AND HEALTH-RELATED ISSUES INCLUDING CLINICS FOR FOOT CARE AND BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING.ALL NEW MEALS-ON-WHEELS CLIENTS ARE VISITED BY AN OUTREACH WORKER WHO WORKS WITH THE CLIENT TO DETERMINE HOW THE ORGANIZATION CAN MEET THEIR NUTRITIONAL NEEDS AND MAKE REFERRALS TO OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES AS NEEDED. CLIENTS ARE REVISITED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. HOME-DELIVERED MEALS TOTALED APPROXIMATELY 932,000 FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022.
KITCHEN OPERATIONS - THE CENTRAL KITCHEN PROVIDES MEALS FOR 15 SERVICE CENTERS, INCLUDING 7 SATELLITE LOCATIONS. THE MEALS ARE PREPARED IN BULK, DIVIDED, AND SHIPPED TO EACH CENTER. MENUS FOR THESE MEALS ARE PREPARED ON A THREE-WEEK CYCLE. APPROXIMATELY 6,000 MEALS ARE PREPARED DAILY. MEALS ARE ALSO PROVIDED TO NON-ORGANIZATION CENTERS AT 17 CONTRACT SITES. CONTRACT MEALS PREPARED FOR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TOTALED APPROXIMATELY 317,000 FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022.
