FUND PROJECTS THAT HELPED SPD PROVIDE EQUIPMENT TO IMPROVE BOTH OFFICER SAFETY AND PUBLIC SAFETY. PROVIDED MATCHING FUNDS TO PURCHASE A NEW ARSON BOMB ROBOT AND CHEMICAL DETECTOR, FUNDED REPAIRS FOR A HARBOR PATROL VESSEL, PURCHASED NEW DOGS FOR THE NARCOTICS UNIT AND HORSES FOR THE MOUNTED PATROL UNIT.
FUND PROJECTS THAT HELPED SPD STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS. PROVIDED FUNDING FOR TRANSLATION AND PRINTING OF SAFE PLACE AND CRIME PREVENTION MATERIALS IN VARIOUS LANGUAGES TO ALLOW THESE PROGRAMS TO REACH DIVERSE AUDIENCES. PROVIDED ONGOING SUPPORT FOR VICTIM SUPPORT PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY AND YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN SPD AND THE COMMUNITY IT SERVES AND ENHANCE PUBLIC SAFETY.
FUND PROJECTS THAT HELPED SPD STRENGTHEN OFFICER WELLNESS AND MORALE AND PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING OPPORTUNTIES TO ENCHANCE FIRST RESPONDER SKILLS. PARTNERED WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND BUSINESSES TO CREATE DONATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR OFFICER OVERTIME MEALS, PPE SUPPLIES AND OTHER CARE ITEMS TO IMPROVE OFFICER MORALE AND SAFETY AS THEY WORKED IN COVID AND RESOURCE POOR ENVIRONMENTS.
