AS THE FEDERALLY-DESIGNATED REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT FOR JEFFERSON AND CLALLAM COUNTIES, NODC DEVELOPS A COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY (CEDS) EVERY 5 YEARS WITH ANNUAL UPDATES IN BETWEEN AND LEADS OTHER REGIONAL PLANNING EFFORTS.2023 ACCOMPLISHMENTS: COORDINATED THE CLALLAM COUNTY BROADBAND COMMITTEE, PREPARED THE COUNTY BROADBAND ACTION AND DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN AND SUBMITTED IT TO THE WASHINGTON STATE BROADBAND OFFICE. ASSISTED IN DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTH OLYMPIC PENINSULA'S SUCCESSFUL PRE-APPLICATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION'S RECOMPETE PROGRAM. COMPLETED ANNUAL UPDATE TO THE CEDS.2. THE NODC WORKS WITH PARTNERS TO DEVELOP PROJECTS THAT SUPPORT FOOD, FARM AND FOREST ENTERPRISES IN THE REGION. 2023 ACCOMPLISHMENTS: PROVIDED INTENSIVE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO MORE THAN 20 FARM AND FOOD BUSINESSES TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO GROWTH AND SUPPORT JOB RETENTION AND CREATION. MATCHED FARMERS LOOKING FOR LAND WITH LAND OWNERS WANTING TO LEASE OR SELL AGRICULTURAL LAND AND ASSISTED WITH SUCCESSION PLANNING AND FINANCING.3.
