MARTHA'S KITCHEN IS A NONPROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO PROVIDE MEALS TO NEEDY PERSONS IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AND SURROUNDING AREAS. DURING THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR OVER 1,140,611 MEALS WERE SERVED. IN ADDITION, SUBSTANTIAL FOOD PRODUCTS DONATED TO THE ORGANIZATION WERE REDISTRIBUTED TO OTHER CHARITABLE FOOD SERVICE FACILITIES AND NEEDY FAMILIES FOR THEIR USE.THE ORGANIZATION MEASURERS SUCCESS BY COUNTING THE NUMBER OF MEALS PREPARED AND THE NUMBER OF SERVING SITES. OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS THE ORGANIZATION HAS EXPERIENCED EXTREME GROWTH IN PROGRAM SERVICES TO WHERE THEY ARE NOW PROVIDING 1,140,611 A YEAR; AND MORE THAN DOUBLED THE NUMBER OF PARTNERS-SERVING SITES TO WHERE THEY ARE NOW PROVIDING FOOD TO OVER 70 PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS EACH MONTH. THE AMOUNT OF GROCERIES DISTRIBUTED HAS ALSO INCREASED DRAMATICALLY SINCE THE ONSET OF COVID-19 AND THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTED 2,153,241 POUNDS OF GROCERIES IN THE PAST YEAR.THE ORGANIZATION IS A COMMUNITY-DRIVEN ORGANIZATION. FOR A SMALL ORGANIZATION, THIS SOUP KITCHEN RECEIVED 16,551 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022 TO HELP WITH ITS MISSION OF FEEDING THE HUNGRY. THE LOCAL FOOD BANK AND GROCERY STORES AS WELL AS LARGE VENUES DONATE FOOD, FIXED ASSETS AND SUPPLIES WHICH TOTALED $5,485,389 IN THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022.
