VHH-JG COMMONS OPERATED A 21-UNIT RENTAL APARTMENT HOUSE ON VASHON ISLAND FOR LOW-INCOME ELDERY PERSONS DURING 2020.
SERVICES COORDINATOR PROVIDES SUPPORTIVE HOUSING WHICH ASSESSES RESIDENTIAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL NEED AND IDENTIFYING WAYS TO IMPROVE CONDITIONS IN THE INDIVIDUALS LIFE. THE SERVICES COORDINATOR ASSIST RESIDENTS WITH COORDINATING MEDICAL ISSUES, DAILY LIVING SKILLS, SELF ADVOCACY, AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE WHEN LIVING INDEPENDENTLY MIGHT NOT BE POSSIBLE.
OASIS (ORIENTATION, ASSISTANCE, SERVICES, INFORMATION STATION) IS A COMMUNITY WIDE SERVICE. OASIS HAS 2 GOALS. 1ST IS TO BE A PLACE WHERE ANYONE ON THE ISLAND CAN GET INFORMATION ABOUT SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS. THIS INCLUDES REFERRALS TO CLINICS, HOUSING, COUNSELING, OR OTHER TYPES OF ORGANIZATIONS THAT SOMEONE MAY NEED. 2ND IS TO PROVIDE CLASSES THAT ASSIST PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY TO LIVE AS INDEPENDENTLY AS POSSIBLE.
