IN 2021, THE SEATTLE HOUSING AUTHORITY RECEIVED APPROVAL FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO CONVERT 228 ELIGIBLE SCATTERED SITE UNITS UNDER SECTION 18 OF THE HOUSING ACT. THE PROPERTIES WERE TRANSFERRED TO THE FOUNDATION IN 2021 AND THE FOUNDATION BEGAN OPERATING THE PROJECTS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOUNDATION'S PURPOSE TO RELIEVE THE SERIOUS SHORTAGE OF HOUSING FOR LOW-INCOME PERSONS AND FAMILIES IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON.
