THE 27TH ANNUAL SEATTLE QUEER FILM FESTIVAL RAN FOR 11-DAYS, SHOWCASING APPROXIMATELY 150 FILMS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE, VIRTUALLY AND IN-PERSON, AND FEATURED PODCASTS, PANELS, WORKSHOPS, PARTIES, AND INSTALLATIONS ACROSS SEATTLE. OUR PROGRAM THIS YEAR WAS ALMOST ENTIRELY ACCESSIBLE, AND FEATURED PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL NON-PROFITS IN THE CITY, AS WELL AS NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED NON-PROFITS. THIS FESTIVAL SUPPORTS THE EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING OF QUEER PEOPLE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND SERVES AS HUB FOR ALL QUEER FILM ACTIVITY IN THE CITY.
TRANSLATIONS: SEATTLE TRANS FILM FESTIVAL RAN AS A HYBRID FESTIVAL, FEATURING FOUR DAYS OF VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING AND ONE IN-PERSON DAY AT NORTHWEST FILM FORUM. THE FESTIVAL INCLUDED CLOSE TO 50 FOLKS AND ALSO FEATURED VIRTUAL EVENTS INCLUDING: SPEED FRIENDING, TEA TIME WITH AVA DAVIS, LIVE PODCASTS, AND MORE. THIS YEAR WE ALSO WELCOMED OUR NEW PROGRAMMER, STORMMIGUEL FLOREZ. AS ONE OF THE ONLY TRANS-ORIENTED FILM FESTIVALS IN THE WORLD, TRANSLATIONS WAS AVAILABLE ACROSS THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES AND SAW LARGER AUDIENCES THAN IN 2020.
OTHER PROGRAMS OF THREE DOLLAR BILL CINEMA INCLUDE: REEL QUEER YOUTH, OUTDOOR CINEMA, AND OUR QUEER-STORY SERIES THAT HIGHLIGHTS DIFFERENT INTERSECTIONS OF THE QUEER COMMUNITY. IN 2021, WE SAW A CONSISTENT AND ENGAGING SERIES OF SCREENINGS AND EVENTS THAT KEPT THREE DOLLAR BILL CINEMA IN THE MINDS OF AUDIENCES ALL YEAR LONG.
