Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
CONNECTING AUDIENCES WITH FILMMAKERS, WHO ARE EDUCATED, ENRICHED, INFORMED, AND MAYBE EVEN TRANSFORMED. WE SCREEN SHORT AND FULL LENGTH FILMS, BOTH DOCUMEMTARY AND NARRATIVES, TO HELP OUR RURAL COMMUNITY SEE THEIR PLACE IN THE WORLD.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
LIKE MANY NONPROFITS, CLOSING OUR PHYSICAL DOORS IN EARLY MARCH BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC LED TO AN ARRAY OF CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES. BY ADAPTING TO REMOTE WORKING, USING ZOOM, WE CHOSE TO MOVE OUR LIVE WOMEN & FILM FESTIVAL TO AN ONLINE PLATFORM. THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS WHO REMAIN COMMITTED TO OUR MISSION TO CONNECT FILMMAKERS WITH AUDIENCES, WE WERE ABLE TO OFFER THIS COLLECTION OF 17 FILMS AT NO CHARGE AND ATTRACTED VIEWERS AROUND THE WORLD. AN ADDED DISCOVERY WAS PRE RECORDED INTERVIEWS WITH THE DIRECTORS OF THESE PROJECTS, AGAIN REACHING ACROSS GEOGRAPHIC BOUNDARIES AND CAPTURING VOICES FROM EASTERN EUROPE, AFRICA AND NORTH AMERICA. FOLLOWING THAT MODEL FOR OUR MAIN FESTIVAL IN SEPTEMBER BROUGHT NEARLY AS MANY ATTENDEES AS OUR LIVE FESTIVAL. WITH 87 FILMS FROM 38 NATIONS, OUR INTERNATIONAL ARRAY OF CINEMATIC VOICES CONTINUED WITH PRE RECORDED INTERVIEWS. CHALLENGES HELP ANY ORGANIZATION GROW AND EVOLVE. OUR MISSION REMAINS THE SAME BUT OUR PROCESS TO MEET THAT MISSION NEEDS TO CONTINUE TO ADAPT TO NEW CIRCUMSTANCES. OUR AUDIENCES DEPEND ON US!
