SKAMANIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL CONTRACTS WITH SKAMANIA COUNTY, WASHINGTON STATE, CITY OF STEVENSON, SKAMANIA PUD, CITY OF NORTH BONNEVILLE AND PORT OF SKAMANIA TO PROVIDE FOR VARIOUS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS. SUCCESSFUL GRANT AND LOAN ASSISTANCE - THE EDC ASSISTED VARIOUS AGENCIES IN OBTAINING FUNDING FOR THE STEVENSON DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, STEVENSON CARSON SCHOOL FOUNDATION AND VARIOUS BUSINESSES WITH COVID RELIEF MONEY, VIA FEDERAL FUNDS AND STATE GRANTS. SKAMANIA EMS, SKAMANIA PUD, THE CITY OF STEVENSON ALL BENEFITED IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER WITH GRANT ASSISTANCE AND WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY SECURE GRANTS OR MONIES FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE PROJECTS. PRIORITY PROJECT FUNDING NEEDS FOR CURRENT AND LOCAL PROJECTS ARE MAINTAINED BY THE EDC STAFF AND APPROVED QUARTERLY THROUGH THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS BY RESOLUTION. THE EDC ALSO FUNDED 3 PRIVATE LOANS. REGIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS - THE EDC BEGAN WORK ON OUR STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR THE 2022-2024 YEAR. THE EDC WAS ALSO PART OF A REGIONAL PLANNING WITH MCEDD AND OUR PARTNERS FOR A CEDS LIST, WHICH IS REVISITED EVERY 5 YEARS. THE EDC ALSO PARTICIPATES IN WEEKLY CONFERENCES WITH THE WASHINGTON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION AND MCEDD'S REGIONAL IMPACT MEETING. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE WIB AND OIB ON A BI-STATE AGREEMENT FOR OUR LENDING PROGRAM. LOCAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS/INVOLVEMENT - THE EDC WAS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE COVID-19 RESPONSE TO LOCAL BUSINESSES AND GOVERNMENT ENTITIES. THE EDC PARTICIPATED ON THE FOLLOWING BOARDS: THE STEVENSON DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, THE STEVENSON/CARSON SCHOOL FOUNDATION, THE COLUMBIA GORGE INTERPRETIVE CENTER, SKAMANIA COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND THE DECA STUDENT PROGRAM FROM STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL.
