TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION PROGRAM:HOP GROWERS OF AMERICA HAS WORKED TO DEVELOP INTERNATIONAL MARKETS FOR U.S. HOPS SINCE 1990. THIS PROGRAM ENDEAVORS TO INCREASE WORLDWIDE USE OF AMERICAN HOPS BY FACILITATING COMMUNICATION BETWEEN GROWERS, MERCHANTS AND BREWERS, AND BY EDUCATING BREWERS ON THE QUALITY, VARIETY AND TRADITION OF U.S. HOPS.
ANNUAL AMERICAN HOP CONVENTION: HOP GROWERS OF AMERICA ORGANIZES AN ANNUAL AMERICAN HOP CONVENTION, WHICH IS HOSTED IN ROTATION WITH AFFILIATED HOP ASSOCIATIONS. THE 2021 CONVENTION WAS HELD VIRTUALLY. CONVENTION ACTIVITIES TYPICALLY INCLUDE: THE HOP RESEARCH COUNCIL WINTER MEETING, HRC RESEARCH REPORTS AND POSTER SESSIONS, QUALITY CONTROL, BEST PRACTICES, AND FOOD SAFETY EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS; U.S. HOP INDUSTRY PLANT PROTECTION COMMITTEE AND SMALL GROWER COUNCIL MEETINGS; TRADE SHOW AND USDA/UNIVERSITY AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS.
