ALTERNATIVES TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM PROVIDES CONFIDENTIAL SAFE SHELTER, COUNSELING, REFERRAL, AND LEGAL ADVOCACY TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN STRUGGLING TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF ABUSE. THE EMERGENCY SHELTER INCLUDES 15 UNITS (44 BEDS) THAT ARE SUBSIDIZED WITH STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDS.
THE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM PROVIDES TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES WHILE THEY REBUILD SELF-SUFFICIENCY IN A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT. THE YWCA TRANSITIONAL HOUSING UNITS INCLUDE 16 AFFORDABLE STUDIO, 1, 2, AND 3 BEDROOM UNITS THAT ARE SUBSIDIZED WITH STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDS. THIS PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND EDUCATION THAT HELP FAMILIES ACHIEVE STABILITY AS THEY MOVE FROM EMERGENCY SHELTERS TOWARDS PERMANENT HOUSING AND INDEPENDENT LIVING.
PERSIMMON BOUTIQUE ACCEPTS CLOTHING DONATIONS AND SELLS NEW AND GENTLY USED CLOTHING, JEWELRY, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES. THE BOUTIQUE PROVIDES ONSITE RETAIL JOB SKILLS TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. IN ADDITION, THE WORKING WOMEN'S WARDROBE IS OPERATED FROM THE BOUTIQUE, AND IS A FREE CLOTHING BANK TO HELP WOMEN RETURNING TO THE WORKFORCE WITH INTERVIEW APPROPRIATE CLOTHING.
