THE CREEKSIDE PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION IS A VITAL PART OF THE LOCAL SCHOOL COMMUNITY. THE PTAS MISSION IS TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF ALL CHILDREN TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT MAKE DECISIONS AFFECTING CHILDREN, TO ASSIST PARENTS IN DEVELOPING THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO NURTURE CHILDREN, AND TO PROMOTE PARENT AND PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT IN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES. THE CREEKSIDE PTA IS ABLE TO MAKE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE DAILY LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN. FOR EXAMPLE, THE PTA: * PROVIDES INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPLY MONEY TO TEACHERS SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE ADDITIONAL LEARNING MATERIALS IN THE CLASSROOM * PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR THE LIBRARY, TECHNOLOGY, AND SCHOOL PROGRAMS * PROVIDES AN AVENUE FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS. * ACTS AS A MAIN SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY BY PUBLISHING A NEWSLETTER, PUBLISHING THE SCHOOL DIRECTORY, CALENDAR AND YEARBOOK AND COORDINATING OUR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM * PUTS ON FAMILY EVENTS ENJOYED BY MANY SUCH AS THE BREAKFAST BOOK CLUB, MOVIE NIGHT, MULTICULTURAL NIGHT, PAND OTHER SOCIAL ACTIVITIES.
