THRIVE UMPQUA IS A COMMUNITY-LED INITIATIVE THAT SUPPORTS PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER TO IMPROVE WELL-BEING.

LAST YEAR, THRIVE UMPQUA HELD 79 COMMUNITY WELLNESS EVENTS AND PROGRAMS WITH 2,994 PARTICIPANTS. THESE ACTIVITIES ENCOMPASSED BOTH FREE COMMUNITY-WIDE AND ORGANIZATION-BASED CLASSES, GROUP ACTIVITIES, VOLUNTEER PROJECTS AND AWARENESS EVENTS FOCUSED ON IMPROVING COMMUNITY HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.


VEGGIERX PRODUCE PRESCRIPTION PROGRAM HAS SERVED 289 PATIENTS EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY OR SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC ILLNESSES ASSOCIATED WITH DIET AND LIFESTYLE. 5 CLINIC LOCATIONS HAVE PARTICIPATED BY REFERRING THEIR PATIENTS TO THE PROGRAM TO RECEIVE $80/MONTH PER HOUSEHOLD TO SPEND ON FRESH PRODUCE OVER SIX MONTHS.


YOUTH VAPING PREVENTION PROGRAM-THRIVE UMPQUA DELIVERED A YOUTH VAPING PREVENTION PROGRAM TO 11 SCHOOLS AND 664 STUDENTS DURING THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR. PROGRAM OUTCOMES INCLUDE A DECREASE IN THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS PLANNING TO VAPE IN THE YEAR, DECREASED POSITIVE PERCEPTIONS OF VAPING, INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS RECOGNIZING THAT VAPING IS HARMFUL TO PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH, AND AN INCREASE IN KNOWLEDGE OF THE HARMFUL INGREDIENTS THAT VAPES CONTAIN.A COUNTY-WIDE YOUTH VAPING NEEDS ASSESSMENT WITH INPUTS FROM STUDENTS, PARENTS/CAREGIVERS, AND TEACHERS/ADMINISTRATORS WAS ALSO CONDUCTED.
