SAIL BEYOND CANCER ANNAPOLIS INC (SBCA) PROVIDES FREE, THREE-HOUR, PRIVATE SAILS FOR CANCER PATIENTS, THEIR CAREGIVERS, AND LOVED ONES. THESE SPECIAL SAILING EXCURSIONS CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE BEING CHALLENGED BY CANCER TO REBUILD COURAGE AND MAKE LASTING MEMORIES. ANYONE IN TREATMENT FOR ANY TYPE OF CANCER, REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE, INCOME LEVEL, ETHNIC BACKGROUND, OR OTHER LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES IS ELIGIBLE TO COME SAILING WITH US. NO MATTER WHERE ON THE CONTINUUM OF HEALTH AND TERMINAL DISEASE A CANCER PATIENT'S PROGNOSIS MAY FALL, THE DIAGNOSIS OF CANCER AND THE TREATMENTS THAT FOLLOW BRING WITH THEM COMMONLY OCCURRING EXPERIENCES FOR THE PATIENT: STRESS, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND UNEASE. OUR RESPITE SAILS BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER AND HELP EASE THE STRESSES, FEARS, AND UNKNOWNS THAT CANCER BRINGS TO AN ENTIRE FAMILY. OUR SAILS ARE CONDUCTED BY EXPERIENCED VOLUNTEER CAPTAINS AND TRAINED CREW ON OUR DONATED VESSEL, A 40' BENETEAU SLOOP AND OTHER PRIVATE YACHTS.
