RESEARCH: CRC CONDUCTS RESEARCH ON THE INFLUENCE SECTOR-THE ADVOCACY GROUPS, THINK TANKS, FOUNDATIONS, ACTIVISTS, AND OTHER OPINION LEADERS INFLUENCING THE PUBLIC POLICY PROCESS. CRC CONDUCTS IRONCLAD RESEARCH THAT IS USED TO DEVELOP COMMUNICATIONS PRODUCTS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON HOW SPECIAL INTERESTS ARE PROTECTED. CRC SHARES ITS RESEARCH THROUGH REGULAR PRINT PUBLICATIONS, A DYNAMIC WEBSITE (CAPITALRESEARCH.ORG), EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS, SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS, AND OTHER OUTLETS. CRC'S RESEARCH SPECIALTIES INCLUDE INVESTIGATING POLITICAL ADVOCACY GROUPS, CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS, OTHER TAX-EXEMPT SPECIAL INTEREST ENTITIES (EDUCATION AND CONSUMER ADVOCACY GROUPS), AND SOCIAL WELFARE GROUPS; FOUNDATIONS, INDIVIDUAL DONORS, AND GRANT-MAKING ORGANIZATIONS; LABOR UNIONS, THEIR MISSION, FINANCIAL SUPPORT, ORGANIZING CAMPAIGNS, AND POLITICAL ACTIVITIES; AND ENVIRONMENTALIST GROUPS, THEIR MISSION, SOURCES OF SUPPORT, AND POLITICAL ACTIVITIES. CRC ALSO PROFILES OTHER INFLUENCERS, INCLUDING THE MEDIA AND WELL-KNOWN ACTIVISTS AND POLICYMAKERS. IN 2021, CRC PRODUCED EIGHT (8) PRINT/MAGAZINE PUBLICATIONS OF LONG-FORM ARTICLES AND POPULATED THE WEBSITE WITH 500 POSTS OF ORIGINAL RESEARCH AND COMMENTARY. IN ADDITION, CRC RELEASED TWO SPECIAL REPORTS ("THE RISE OF THE ECO-RIGHT, AND "MAPPING SOROS'S 'PHILANTHROPY' AT HOME AND ABROAD"). CRC'S FISCAL SPONSORSHIP ARRANGEMENT TO PROVIDE FIDUCIARY OVERSIGHT, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES TO CROWDSOURCERS (AN UNINCORPORATED NONPROFIT ASSOCIATION WHICH SERVED AS AN INCUBATOR FOR IDEAS ACROSS A NETWORK OF CONSERVATIVE LEADERS) ENDED ON DECEMBER 31, 2021.


INFLUENCE WATCH: CRC MAINTAINS INFLUENCEWATCH ORG, A WIKI-STYLE ONLINE RESOURCE OF FACT-BASED, ACCURATE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE VARIOUS INFLUENCERS OF PUBLIC POLICY DEBATES. INFLUENCEWATCH STRIVES TO BE COMPREHENSIVE, PROVIDING FREQUENTLY UPDATED PROFILES COMPLETE WITH RELIABLE SOURCING. PROFILES INCLUDE ACTIVISTS, NON-PROFIT ENTITIES, FOR-PROFIT ENTITIES, LABOR UNIONS, POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEES, AGENCIES, LEGISLATION, AND MOVEMENTS. THE WEBSITE GREW TO NEARLY 9,000 TOTAL ENTRIES, WITH APPROXIMATELY 3,900 LONG PROFILES. WEBSITE TRAFFIC GREW ALMOST 20% TO 1.5 MILLION UNIQUE USERS AND 2.7 MILLION PAGEVIEWS.


COMMUNICATIONS: CRC DISSEMINATES ITS RESEARCH (VIA PRESS RELEASE, MEDIA STATEMENTS, AND OTHER MEDIA RELATIONS EFFORTS) TO NEWS OUTLETS THAT COVER THE TOPIC OF PUBLIC POLICY INFLUENCE. IN 2021, CRC'S MEDIA APPEARANCES (INCLUDING OP-EDS, INTERVIEWS, REFERENCES IN THE MEDIA, AND OTHER CITATIONS IN OUTLETS LIKE THE NEW YORK TIMES, WALL STREET JOURNAL, FOX NEWS, REAL CLEAR POLITICS, NEWSWEEK, THE WASHINGTON TIMES, THE DAILY CALLER, THE WASHINGTON FREE BEACON, ETC.) INCREASED TO 310. CRC'S MANY EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS WERE VIEWED CLOSE TO 11 MILLION TIMES ON YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK.
