GRID3 SUPPORTED DATA PRODUCTION AND USE IN BURKINA FASO, THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO, KENYA, NIGERIA, SIERRA LEONE, AND ZAMBIA. THIS PROGRAM ENDED DURING 2023 AND WAS FOLLOWED BY THE GRID3 - PHASE 2 SCALING PROGRAM.
THE GEOSPATIAL DATA/TOOLS/TECH FOR RMNCHN MICROPLANNING AND DECISION SUPPORT: THE GEOSPATIAL DATA/TOOLS/TECH FOR RMNCHN MICROPLANNING AND DECISION SUPPORT PROGRAM IS IMPLEMENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PATHFINDER INTERNATIONAL, DATA SCIENCE NIGERIA AND NATVIEW FOUNDATION. IT AIMS TO IMPROVE REPRODUCTIVE, MATERNAL, NEWBORN, AND CHILD HEALTH AND NUTRITION (RMNCHN) SERVICES IN NIGERIA THROUGH THE USE OF INNOVATIVE DIGITAL STRATEGIES AND GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY.
THE GRID3 - PHASE 2 SCALING: THE GRID3 - PHASE 2 SCALING PROGRAM STARTED IN MID-2023 IN CONTINUATION OF THE GRID3 PHASE 2 - SEED AND BRIDGE FUNDING PROGRAM. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO ENSURE THAT GEOSPATIAL REFERENCE DATA, INCLUDING ACCURATE PLACE LOCATIONS AND POPULATION ESTIMATES, ARE MADE AVAILABLE IN PRIORITY COUNTRIES, AND THAT THE COUNTRIES BUILD THE CAPACITY TO MANAGE, CURATE, AND SUSTAIN THESE DATASETS AND USE THEM TO IMPROVE HEALTH OUTCOMES. THIS PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE INTENSIVE SUPPORT TO TWO PRIORITY COUNTRIES, NIGERIA AND DRC.
GEOSPATIAL SUPPORT TO OUTBREAK CAMPAIGNS: THE GEOSPATIAL SUPPORT TO OUTBREAK CAMPAIGNS PROGRAM HAS THE GOAL OF SUPPORTING THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO) WITH POLIO CAMPAIGNS IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND FIELD PRESENCE FOR USE OF GEOSPATIAL DATA AND VARIOUS GIS SOLUTIONS FOR DIGITAL MICROPLANNING AND VACCINATOR TRACKING. DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2023, KEY ACTIVITIES INCLUDED A WORKSHOP IN THE REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO AND SUPPORTING WHO WITH TRACKING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THREE POLIO CAMPAIGNS IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (DRC).
