AFRICA FOUNDATION (USA) "AF (USA)" FACILITATES THE EMPOWERMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE LIVING IN OR ADJACENT TO PROTECTED AREAS IN SOUTH/EAST AFRICA.

EDUCATION - AF (USA) MAKES THE BUILDING AND IMPROVEMENT OF LOCAL SCHOOLS A PRIORITY BELIEVING THAT RURAL PEOPLE CAN BREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY THROUGH EDUCATION. FUNDS ($475,570) WERE DISTRIBUTED TO CLASSROOMS, KITCHENS, AND FACILITIES PROJECTS IN TANZANIA, SOUTH AFRICA AND KENYA. AF (USA) DISTRIBUTED ($59,754) TO FUND THE COMMUNITY LEADERS EDUCATION FUND (CLEF). THIS PROGRAM HAS THE GOAL OF EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES BY BUILDING LEADERSHIP AND ENABLING INDIVIDUALS TO REALIZE THEIR DREAMS. THE PROGRAM HAS TWO COMPONENTS, THE ACADEMIC SPONSORSHIP AND THE RECIPIENT'S REQUIREMENT THAT THEY SHARE THEIR NEWLY ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES.

HEALTHCARE AND CLEAN WATER - AF (USA) GRANTED FUNDS ($229,469) FOR COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE CENTERS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND TANZANIA. FUNDS WERE DISTRIBUTED ($81,614) FOR COMMUNITY WATER BOREHOLES AND OTHER WATER-RELATED PROJECTS IN SOUTH AFRICA, BOTSWANA AND KENYA. AF (USA) FUNDED ($27,977) FOR SOLAR CLINICS IN TANZANIA AND MOZAMBIQUE. AF (USA) DISTRIBUTED ($21,826) FOR ENVIROLOOS FOR SCHOOLS IN SOUTH AFRICA.
