RENTAL OF THE PIONEER CENTER TO LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS GROUPS FOR THE PROMOTION OF CULTURAL ARTS AND THE ENRICHMENT OF THE NORTHERN NEVADA COMMUNITY. THE STATEWIDE RESTRICTION ON IN-PERSON GATHERINGS PREVENTED THE CENTER FROM CONDUCTING NORMAL OPERATIONS. MINIMAL PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMMING WAS PRESENTED.
PRESERVATION, MAINTENANCE, AND OPERATION OF THE PIONEER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, A CULTURAL CENTER LISTED ON THE NATIONAL, STATE, AND CITY HISTORIC REGISTERS. THE CENTER WAS VACANT FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE YEAR DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC. MINIMAL MAINTENANCE WORK WAS COMPLETED. MOST STAFF WORKED REMOTELY FROM THEIR HOMES.
PRESENTATION OF PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMMING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND PUBLIC LIBRARIES THROUGHOUT NORTHWESTERN NEVADA FOR EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES DESIGNED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. OUTREACH ACTIVITIES WERE LARGELY SUSPENDED DUE TO DISTANCE LEARNING IN AREA SCHOOLS AND THE CLOSURE OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES. MINIMAL OUTREACH WAS CONDUCTED USING VIRTUAL PLATFORMS.
