THE ELKO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EMPLOYEES THREE FULL-TIME PERSONNEL. THE EMPLOYEES AND NUMBEROUS VOLUNTEERS IMPLEMENT THE VARIOUS PROGRAMS THE CHAMBER RUNS. THE CHAMBER OFFICE ALSO SERVES AS A VISTORS AND INFORMATION CENTER FOR NORTHEASTERN NEVADA. THE CHAMBER IS HOUSED IN THE RECONSTRUCTED HISTORICAL SHERMAN STATION, WHICH ALSO SERVES AS AN ATTRACTION. THE CHAMBER PRODUCES SEVERAL PUBLICATIONS DURING THE YEAR, INCLUDING: FOUR-COLOR AREA MAP, ACCOMMODATION AND DINING GUIDE, COMMUNITY CALENDAR OF EVENTS, CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS CONTACTS, CHAMBER NEWSLETTERS AND LOCAL SHEETS, FOUR-COLOR BUSINESS DIRECTORY, AND THE SHERMAN STATION BROCHURE. THE CHAMBER RESPONDS TO THOUSANDS OF WRITTEN AND ORAL REQUESTS FOR RELOCATION PACKETS AND TOURISM INFORMATION ANNUALLY THROUGH PHONE, INTERNENT SERVICES, US MAIL, AND IN-PERSON AT THE OFFICE. A FREESTANDING, FULLY STAFFED OFFICE IS SUPPORTED BY THE CHAMBER TO SERVE AS A VISTOR AND TOURIST CENTER, AS WELL AS BEING THE CENTER FOR ALL MEMBERSHIP SERVICES AND INFORMATIONS. THE CHAMBER PROVIDES NETWORKING AND COMMUNITY INFORMATION FOR BUSINESSES, (PROSPECTIVE, NEW AND EXISTING), THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS BUSINESS AFTER- HOURS THE CHAMBER PROVIDES A VENUE FOR MEMBER BUSINESSES TO PROMOTE THEMSELVES THROUGH BROCHURES IN THE VISTOR'S CENTER, THE MAY HOME AND BUSINESS EXPO, AND VARIOUS ACTIVITIES HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
