-VIBRANT SCHOOLS OF PUGET SOUND VSOPS VIA THE CONSISTENT EDUCATIONAL ADVOCACY WORK HAS RESULTED IN IMPACTING 28,000 STUDENTS IN THE TACOMA PUBLIC SCHOOLS TACOMA WA AND 12,000 STUDENTS IN THE CLOVER PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT LAKEWOOD WA. ADVOCACY WORK INCLUDED COMMUNITY FOCUSED SUPPORT IN PASSING EQUITY POLICIES IN BOTH DISTRICTS MONITORING SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS AND REVIEWING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO ENSURE EQUITABLE ANTI-RACIST DELIVERY OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES. -VSOPS LAUNCHED THE FIRST PHASE OF YOUTH ACTIVISM IN THE CLOVER PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE WAS ESTABLISHED AT THE CLAUDIA THOMAS MIDDLE SCHOOL. VSOPS PROVIDED SUPPORT TO THE BLACK STUDENT UNION AT LAKES HIGH SCHOOL. BOTH SCHOOLS ARE BEING GUIDED THROUGH BECOMING EFFECTIVE STUDENT LEADERS AND ADVOCATES VIA EQUITY FOCUSED BEHAVIORS. STRATEGY FOCUSED ACTIVITIES ARE AGE APPROPRIATE. -VSOPS CONTINUES TO ACT COLLABORATIVELY AND REMAINS IN GOOD STANDING WITH OTHER PARTNERED ORGANIZATIONS IN THE GREATER PUGET SOUND AREA THAT ARE FULLY ENGAGED IN ANTI-RACISM EDUCATIONAL ADVOCACY INITIATIVES. VSOPS STAFF ATTEND MEETINGS SERVE AS PANELISTS AND MODERATORS WHEN ANTI-RACIST WORKSHOPS OCCUR.
