THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A LOCATION TO ENGAGE IN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE AND INSPIRE SOCIETAL CHANGE TO FOCUS LESS ON THE SELF AND MORE ON SERVING OTHERS, THE COMMUNITY, AND THE GREATER GOOD THROUGH VARIOUS MEANS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 1.CONVENING DIVERSE AND CREATIVE PEOPLE, USING THE EXPERTISE, AND KNOWLEDGE OF ALL, TO WORK AND LEARN TOGETHER IN ONE PHYSICAL SPACE TO RESOLVE THE WORLD'S MOST PRESSING PROBLEMS; 2. USING HANDS-ON GROUP EXPERIENCES AT THE ORGANIZATION'S FARM LOCATION TO CREATE DEEP RELATIONSHIPS THAT WILL INSPIRE POSITIVE SOCIETAL CHANGE AND FOSTER PROBLEM-SOLVING; AND 3. THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCED OVER 600 POUNDS OF FOOD THAT WAS DONATED TO LOCAL FAMILIES IN FOOD DESERT AREAS THAT STRUGGLE TO FIND HEALTHY FOOD ALTERNATIVES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO EDUCATED OVER 100 STUDENTS ON THE FARM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PLYMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM AND WORKED WITH THE CARPENTRY PROGRAM AT THE LOCAL TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL WHEREBY THE STYDENTS DESIGNED AND BUILT CHICKEN COOPS AND INSTALLED ON SITE. THE CHICKEN COOPS HAVE ENABLED THE ORGANIZATION TO PRODUCE OVER 150 EGGS IN IT'S FIRST SEASON TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
THE ORGANIZATION COMMISSIONED A 40 FOOT MURAL ART INSTALLATION DESIGNED AND CREATED BY LOCAL STUDENT ARTISTS FOR AN UPCOMING EVENT. THE CREATORS DEVELOPED PHOTOS AND JOURNALISTIC CONTENT WHICH WAS DISPLAYED IN THE ORGANIZATION'S ART GALLERY.
THE ORGANIZATION DESIGNED A SOLAR STRATEGY THAT WOULD ENABLE THE LOCATION TO POWER 100% OF IT'S OWN ENERGY USING SOLAR, GEOTHERMAL AND HEAT PUMP STRATEGIES. THE ORGANIZATION HAS ACCOMPLISHED PHASE ONE OF THIS GOAL AND PRODUCED 40% OF THE ELECTRICITY IT NEEDS TO OPERATE AND PARTNERED WITH EVERSOURCE AS AN ONGOING EFFORT TO REMAIN 100% SELF SUFFICIENT.
THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCED A "COMMERCIAL CHALLENGE" WHERE LOCAL STUDENTS COULD LEARN AND SUBMIT A MARKETING PITCH FOR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES. 20+ YOUNG CREATORS PARTICIPATED. THE LOCAL BANK SPONSORED AN AWARD FOR THE WINNER. PARTICIPANTS DEVELOPED VIDEO CONTENT SKILLS AND GAINED EXPERIENCE WORKING ON DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS CREATED BY THE STUDIO INITIATIVE.
