DETERMINED TO LIVE TRANSITION HOUSE RECEIVED A GRANT FROM THE SISTERS OF BON SECOURS FOUNDATION. THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE WAS TO MOVE INTO A FACILITY AND MAKE IT READY TO HOUSE EX-OFFENDERS. THE FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE SISTERS OF BON SECOURS MINISTRY GRANT ENABLED THE ORGANIZATION TO FINALIZE A LEASE FOR A 3,700 SQ. FT. BUILDING LOCATED AT 3313 OAKFIELD AVENUE IN THE WEST BALTIMORE NEIGHBORHOOD OF FOREST PARK. THE FUNDS PROVIDED OPERATING COSTS FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION. THE PROGRAM NEEDED FURNITURE AND FIXTURES TO FURNISH THE ROOMS AND THE KITCHEN. DONATIONS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED IN CASH, FURNITURE, AND OTHER DONATIONS. ALL ROOMS HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY FURNISHED. THE KITCHEN HAS BEEN OUTFITTED WITH NEW APPLIANCES AS WELL AS UTENSILS AND COOKWARE. ALL BEDROOMS ARE FURNISHED WITH BEDS FOR EACH RESIDENT, DRESSERS, SIDE TABLES, LAMPS AND LINENS. THE COMMON AREA HAS BEEN FURNISHED WITH LIVING ROOM SEATING AND BIG SCREEN TELEVISION AND A LARGE DINING ROOM TABLE FOR THE DINING AREA. TWO FULL-SIZED DESKS HAVE BEEN DONATED FOR THE RECEPTION AREA AND THE OFFICE SPACE FOR THE SOCIAL WORKER AND HOUSE MANAGER, AND AN ADDITIONAL CLOTHES DRYER HAS BEEN DONATED FOR LAUNDRY.
