SPRINGBOARD HEALTHLAB'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE HEALTH EQUITY BY FOSTERING BOLD IDEAS AND LAUNCHING HIGH-IMPACTSOLUTIONS. THE ORGANIZATION IS AN INCUBATOR FOR BOLD NEW PROJECTS FOCUSED ON STRUCTURAL OR SYSTEMS CHANGE TO IMPROVE HEALTH EQUITY.

BHOC IS A CONSORTIUM OF PUBLIC HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS THAT WORK WITH DATING APPS TO PROMOTE SEXUAL HEALTH. BHOC PARTNERS WITH APPS ON SEXUAL HEALTH FEATURES, CONTENT, AND HEALTH MESSAGES TO USERS, AND HAS SEVERAL INITIATIVES, INCLUDING TAKEMEHOME, NICEAF, AND OTHERS. TAKEMEHOME OFFERS MAILED HIV AND STI TESTING FREE TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN AREAS WITH PARTICIPATING STATE OR LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS. DURING 2022, TAKEMEHOME MAILED OUT OVER 11,000 KITS. MANY PARTICIPANTS (OVER 1/3) REPORTED THAT IT WAS THEIR FIRST TIME GETTING AN HIV TEST, DEMONSTRATING THAT OFFERING HOME TESTING AND PROMOTING THROUGH BHOC'S PARTNERSHIP WITH DATING APPS HAS SUCCESSFULLY ENGAGED NEW POPULATIONS IN SEXUAL HEALTH TESTING .NICEAF.ORG IS A CAMPAIGN RUN BY BHOC IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DATING APPS THAT AIMS TO IMPROVE DATING APP USERS' EXPERIENCES AND REDUCE EXPERIENCES OF STIGMA, HARASSMENT, AND DISRESPECT ON THE APPS. BHOC PARTNERED WITH 9 DATING APPS TO PROMOTE THIS PROJECT, AND GATHERED INPUT FROM HUNDREDS OF DATING APP USERS. WITH THEIR INPUT, WE PUT FORWARD MANY RECOMMENDATIONS TO DATING APPS ABOUT HOW THEY CAN IMPROVE APPS TO REDUCE NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES OF USERS, ESPECIALLY AS IT RELATES TO SUBSTANCE USE.
CHLI IS THE COMMUNITY HEALTH LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE. CHLI IS FOCUSED ON SUPPORTING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT IN THE SEXUAL HEALTH AND DRUG USER HEALTH SECTOR FOR SAN FRANCISCO. CHLI LEADS A WORKFORCE COLLECTIVE WITH ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE CITY, A TRAINING SERIES FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN ENTERING THE FIELD, AND A NUMBER OF PEER SUPPORT ACTIVITIES.
DURING 2022, SPRINGBOARD INCUBATED A PROJECT FOCUSED ON LONG COVID JUSTICE, SUPPORTING STRATEGIES FOR HIGH IMPACT TO BUILD OUT A NEW INITIATIVE. THE NETWORK FOR LONG COVID JUSTICE (NLCJ) WAS CREATED TO ENSURE THAT INDIVIDUALS WHO EXPERIENCED LONG COVID WERE ABLE TO SHARE INPUT INTO GUIDANCE FOR RESEARCH, CARE, AND TREATMENT OF LONG COVID. NLCJ PROVIDED TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO EMERGING ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS AREA AND PROVIDED EDUCATION TO PROVIDERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ABOUT LONG COVID.
