FESTIVAL: THE 2023 INTERNATIONAL PIANO FESTIVAL FEATURED SPENCER MYER, GOLD MEDALIST, AND CHAEYOUNG PARK, BACHAUER SILVER MEDALIST. 8 STUDENTS (FROM ACROSS THE USA AND CANADA) ALSO PERFORMED THEIR OWN CONCERT, AFTER RECEIVING GUIDANCE FROM THE FESTIVAL ARTISTS. AUDIENCE MEMBERS ESPECIALLY PRAISED THE PERFORMANCES OF THE STUDENTS AND THEIR AMAZING LEVEL OF ARTISTRY AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE. ALL THANKED THE BACHAUER FOR PROVIDING A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY OF PERFORMANCES AND EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE. FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS VIDEOS WERE RECORDED IN 4K-QUALITY VIDEO AND HIGHEST-LEVEL AUDIO FOR LATER PRESENTATION ONLINE VIA YOUTUBE. APPROXIMATELY 750 IN-PERSON PATRONS AND 12,000 ONLINE VIEWS.

CONCERT SERIES: THE 2022/23 INTERNATIONAL CONCERT SERIES ALL FEATURED BACHAUER GOLD MEDALISTS. THE ARTISTS WERE KWOK-WAI LIO, ORIGINALLY FROM HONG KONG; ANDREY GUGNIN, ORIGINALLY FROM RUSSIA, NOW LIVING IN CROATIA; CHANGYONG SHIN, ORIGINALLY FROM KOREA; AND OLGA KERN, ORIGINALLY FROM RUSSIA. THE REPERTOIRE RANGED FROM SCHUBERT'S FINAL THREE SONATAS, TO LISZT'S FIENDISHLY DIFFICULT DON JUAN FANTASY, TO A CONCERT HONORING THE MUSIC AND ARTISTRY OF RACHMANINOFF. THE FOUR CONCERTS IN THE SERIES WERE RECORDED IN 4K-QUALITY VIDEO AND HIGHEST-LEVEL AUDIO FOR LATER PRESENTATION ONLINE VIA YOUTUBE. APPROXIMATELY 1650 IN-PERSON PATRONS AND 2700 ONLINE VIEWS.
PIANO INSPIRATO: PIANO INSPIRATO (FORMERLY MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS) PRESENTED VISITING ARTISTS, UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS, AND YOUNG PIANISTS PERFORMING ON A STEINWAY GRAND PIANO FOR STUDENTS IN WASATCH FRONT SCHOOLS. STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT HOW TO USE THEIR IMAGINATION AND DEVELOP LISTENING SKILLS AS THEY LEARNED MORE ABOUT FAMOUS COMPOSERS AND THE DILIGENCE AND DETERMINATION IT TAKES TO BE A CONCERT PIANIST. STUDENTS WERE AMAZED THAT MANY OF THESE PIANISTS PRACTICE SIX TO EIGHT HOURS A DAY AND CAN PLAY HOURS OF MUSIC ENTIRELY FROM MEMORY. PIANO INSPIRATO VISITED 25 SCHOOLS, WITH OVER 16,000 STUDENTS REACHED.
