AS AN AFFILIATE OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL, WE PROVIDE VARIOUS SERVICES TO OUR COMMUNITY, TO INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS, AS WELL AS DISTRICT PROJECTS.

LOCAL/COMMUNITY/ENVIROMENTAL SERVICES: THE ROTARY CLUB OF SLC PARTICPIATES IN "ACTS OF KINDNESS" WHICH IS SET UP TO PROVIDE ONE-TIME FINANCIAL GRANTS FOR EMERGENCIES, UTILITIES, MEDICAL EXPENSES, CLOTHING, FOOD, CAR EXPENSES, ETC FOR NEEDY INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. THEY ALSO WORK TO EDUCATE CLUB MEMBERS ON ENVIROMENTAL ISSUES AND SELECT PROJECTS IN WHICH CLUB MEMBERS CAN PARTICIPATE. INCLUDING MAINTAING AND RESTORING ROTARY PARK IN CITY CREEK CANYON, ROTARY GLEN NEAR HOGLE ZOO, AND THE PLAYGROUND FOR CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITIES IN LIBERTY PARK.


YOUTH SERVICE & EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE; ROTARY OF SLC PARTNERS WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE LEARNING THROUGH TUTORING AND SUMMER READING PROGRAMS. WE ALSO PROVIDE "YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS" TO ASSIST STUDENTS IN FURTHING THEIR POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION. WE ALSO RUN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: INTERACT/ROTARACT - PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STUDENTS TO DEVELOP COMMUNITY COMMITMENT AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES. WE ENCOURAGE THEM TO ENHANCE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THAT WILL ASSIST THEM IN PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, TO ADDRESS THE PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL NEEDS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES AND TO PROMOTE BETTER RELATIONS BETWEEN ALL PEOPLE WORLDWIDE THROUGH A FRAMEWORK OF FRIENDSHIP AND SERVICE. YOUTH CITY - HELPS CHILDREN IN GRADES 1-6 WITH ART PROJECTS, PHYSICAL EXERCISE, READING SKILLS, COMPUTER SKILLS, AND SOCIAL SKILLS. WE ARE SERVING ROSE PARK SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO NEED A PLACE TO GO AFTER SCHOOL AS THEY AWAIT FOR THEIR PARENTS TO PICK THEM UP. SLC YOUTH SERVICES MILESTONE TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAMM: ASSISTS IN ENDING THE CYCLE OF HOMELESSNESS AND DEPENDANCY BY HELPING YOUNG ADULTS BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT THROUGH ACCESS TO SAFE HOUSING, STABLE EMPLOYMENT, AND CONNECTIONS TO ONGOING SUPPORT AND RESOURCES. MILESTONE TLP CURRENTLY SERVES UP TO 19 YOUNG ADULTS AGES 18-21 WHO ARE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS IN SALT LAKE COUNTY.
