THE CENTER FOR CULTURAL VIBRANCY (CCV) SUPPORTS AND CELEBRATES TRADITIONAL ARTISTS -- MUSICIANS, CRAFTSPEOPLE, DANCERS, AND MORE -- TO PROMOTE CULTURAL EXCHANGE AND EDUCATION WORLDWIDE.

PROGRAMMING AND WORLD CULTURE IN CONTEXT - WORLD CULTURE IN CONTEXT (WCC) INVITES K-12 STUDENTS ON A VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP BY CONNECTING THEM WITH RENOWNED PERFORMING ARTISTS AND COMMUNITY TRADITION-BEARERS FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, STUDENTS EXPERIENCE PARTICIPATING ARTISTS IN THE PLACES THAT HAVE PROFOUNDLY SHAPED THEIR WORK. EACH PROGRAM FEATURES A 15-20 MINUTES VIDEO PRESENTATION HIGHLIGHTING THE ARTIST IN A PLACE OF IMPORT TO THEIR WORK, FOLLOWED BY A LIVE, REMOTE VIDEO CONVERSATION BETWEEN ARTISTS AND STUDENTS. CCV SUPPLIES PARTICIPATING WCC EDUCATORS WITH GRADE APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM MATERIALS INTRODUCING THE FEATURED TRADITION, ARTIST, AND THE GEOGRAPHIC AND CULTURAL CONTEXT OF THEIR WORK. THE RESULTS OF THIS PROGRAM SERVICE INCLUDE: PRODUCTION OF 11 VIDEOS WITH PARTICIPATING TRADITIONAL ARTISTS FROM 4 CONTINENTS; 29 VIRTUAL PROGRAMS PRESENTED TO 49 SCHOOLS; AND REACHING 12,000+ STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
FESTIVALS AND EVENTS - CULTURAL FESTIVALS POSSESS A UNIQUE POWER TO SHOWCASE DIVERSE CULTURAL TRADITIONS, REVITALIZE COMMUNITIES, GENERATE A DEEPLY FELT SHARED SENSE OF CONNECTION AND FELLOWSHIP AMONG ATTENDEES, AND STIMULATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. CCV PARTNERED WITH FESTIVALS LARGE AND SMALL TO INTRODUCE AUDIENCES TO A WIDE RANGE OF CULTURES IN WHICH THEY HAD LIKELY NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY EXPOSED, THUS HELPING FORGE NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO BRIDGE DIVIDES AND ENGENDER GREATER CROSS-CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING, EMPATHY, AND APPRECIATION.
CULTURAL EXCHANGE - CCV COLLABORATES WITH A BROAD RANGE OF LOCAL, STATEWIDE, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS TO CREATE DIVERSE AND IMPACTFUL ARTISTIC EXCHANGE AND CROSS-CULTURAL CONNECTIONS. WITH PARTNERSHIPS THAT EXTEND FROM SMALL NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS TO THE US STATE DEPARTMENT, CCV HOSTS CULTURAL EXCHANGE ACTIVITIES WITH TRADITION-BEARERS TO HELP COMMUNITIES BETTER UNDERSTAND AND APPRECIATE ONE ANOTHER'S CULTURE-ADDRESSING BARRIERS TO CONNECTION, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY LIVE ACROSS THE WORLD FROM ONE ANOTHER OR ON THE SAME CITY BLOCK.
NETWORK AND CONNECT - CCV VALUES AND SEEKS OUT ALLIES AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH ARTS AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE, SUPPORT, AND SHOWCASE A COMMUNITY'S EXPRESSIVE CULTURAL AND TRADITIONAL ARTS. THESE EFFORTS FUEL AN EXPANDED REACH FOR CCV'S MISSION AND VISION. THE LEADERSHIP TEAM AT THE CENTER FOR CULTURAL VIBRANCY HAS SUCCESSFULLY WORKED WITHIN 20 COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES FOR OVER YEARS-IDENTIFYING, CELEBRATING, AND SUPPORTING UNIQUE CULTURAL RESOURCES TO STRENGTHEN CREATIVE ECONOMIES IN WAYS THAT HONOR SOCIAL EQUITY AND INCLUSIVENESS.
