EQUIS INSTITUTE IS A HUB FOR LEADERS IN THE LATINO COMMUNITY WHO WANT TO FOSTER A BETTER CONNECTION BETWEEN LATINX COMMUNITIES AND THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. TO CONVENE PARTNERS AROUND INNOVATIVE RESEARCH AND IDEAS AND PROVIDE CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LEADERS.

LAPIZEQUIS RAN A PROGRAM CALLED THE LATINO POLITICAL INNOVATION ZONES (LAPIZ) TO HELP DEVELOP A PLAYBOOK FOR MOVEMENT GROUPS TO TURNOUT LATINO VOTERS. THIS PLAYBOOK AIMS TO GET US CLOSER TO PARTICIPATION AT LEVELS TO COMMENSURATE WITH OUR POTENTIAL. THESE EFFORTS INCLUDED 332,906 DOOR KNOCKS, 588,085 MAILERS, 6 DIGITAL ADS, 49 ORGANIZING EVENTS, AND 4 RADIO ADS.
YOUTUBE MOONSHOTTHE YOUTUBE INITIATIVE LEADS THE CHARGE IN CULTURALLY-RELEVANT, ENGAGING CONTENT CREATION, THAT HELPS LATINOS MAKE SENSE OF THE WORLD, POLITICS, AND CURRENT EVENTS TO INOCULATE LATINO VOTERS AGAINST HARMFUL NARRATIVES AND MIS/DISINFORMATION AND BUILD CONFIDENCE AND TRUST IN OUR DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS. THE YOUTUBE INITIATIVE LAUNCHED TWO CHANNELS IN 2022. EN SERIO DEVELOPED 63 VIDEOS THAT HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AND HAVE 5 MILLION TOTAL VIEWS. LUNARIO INFORMA HAS PUBLISHED 32 VIDEOS, HALF IN SPANISH AND HALF IN ENGLISH.
RESEARCHPROVIDE LATINO-SERVING GROUPS WITH ACTIONABLE RESEARCH TO HELP STRENGTHEN THEIR PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH EFFORTS. OUR RESEARCH THIS YEAR CONTINUED TO TACKLE SOME OF THE BIGGER ISSUES AND QUESTIONS OUR PARTNERS FACE EVERY DAY, FROM HOW TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE REAL THREAT OF DISINFORMATION AND MISINFORMATION, TO HOW TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUE OF LANGUAGE IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE COLLECTED 14,850 DIGITAL LATINO SURVEY RESPONSES AND CONDUCTED 11 FOCUS GROUPS AND 18 POLLS.
