WORKED WITH PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AND VETERANS AFFAIRS ON THEIR ANNUAL "PENSION POACHING" CAMPAIGN TO HELP ALL OF THE ELDERLY VETERANS IN PENNSYLVANIA PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM FINANCIAL PREDATORS. __________________________________________________________________________________ WORKED WITH WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY CRIMINAL JUSTICE DEPARTMENT. THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDED AN INTERN TO WORK AT OUR CENTER DURING THE SUMMER. THE INTERN BRIEFED THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AND VETERAN AFFAIRS ON HER RESEARCH. THE SIGNIFICANCE IS THE CENTER WORKED WITH TWO STATE-LEVEL ENTITIES, PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AND VETERAN AFFAIRS AND WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY TO HELP PROTECT ELDERLY VETERANS IN PENNSYLVANIA. ADDITIONALLY, THE CENTER WILL CONTINUE THESE RELATIONSHIPS IN 2023. __________________________________________________________________________________ THE CENTER ATTENDED THE PENNSYLVANIA GOVERNOR'S ADVISORY COUNCIL - VETERAN SERVICES MEETING AND PROVIDED A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE CENTER. __________________________________________________________________________________ THE CENTER ATTENDED PENNSYLVANIA STATE SENATOR KATIE MUTH'S VETERAN EXPO IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA. __________________________________________________________________________________ THE CENTER HAS WORKED WITH THE FOLLOWING VIRGINIA-BASED NONPROFITS: 1) AGING TOGETHER, 2) PENINSULA AGENCY ON AGING, 3) SENIORADVOCATE, AND 4) HERO'S BRIDGE. __________________________________________________________________________________ THE CENTER PROVIDED PRESENTATIONS AT THE FOLLOWING VIRGINIA-BASED ASSISTED LIVING CENTERS: 1) WESTMINSTER-CANTERBURY ON CHESAPEAKE BAY, 2) CEDARFIELD - RICHMOND, AND 3) BROOKDALE CHAMBREL - WILLIAMSBURG. __________________________________________________________________________________ THE CENTER CONTINUED TO DEVELOP TRAINING MATERIAL ON THE WEBSITE.
