VICTIM SERVICES: CHILD AND FAMILY ADVOCATE WORKS WITH FAMILIES DURING THE INVESTIGATIVE PROCESS BY PROVIDING SUPPORT, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS. THIS CAN COME IN MANY FORMS AND IS TAILORED TO MEET THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF EACH FAMILY. IT IS OUR GOAL TO HELP FAMILIES FEEL LESS ISOLATED AND MORE INFORMED DURING THIS TRAUMATIC TIME. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2019, WE PROVIDED DIRECT SERVICES TO 928 NEW CLIENTS (525 OF WHICH WERE NEW CHILD CLIENTS AND 403 WERE NEW NON-OFFENDING CAREGIVER CLIENTS).
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON PREVENTION AND EARLY INTERVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE. THE KEY TO ADDRESSING THE ISSUE OF CHILD ABUSE IS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT ABUSE, SERVICES AVAILABLE TO VICTIMS AND THE LEGAL OBLIGATION OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO REPORT SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE.
COUNSELING: PROVIDES MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT TO CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM PTSD (POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER) SYMPTOMS FOLLOWING SEXUAL AND SEVERE PHYSICAL ABUSE.
FORENSIC INTERVIEWING: ASSISTS IN THE INVESTIGATION PROCESS OF CHILD ABUSE IN A NON-LEADING, NON-SUGGESTIVE MANNER THROUGH A FRIENDLY AND NEUTRAL SETTING.
