CIVIC EDUCATION AND PARTICIPATION PROGRAM: NORTH STAR PROSPERITY IS FOCUSED ON EDUCATING MINNESOTANS ABOUT ECONOMIC ISSUES THAT IMPACT THEM, INCLUDING PUBLIC EDUCATION, CHILD CARE, COLLEGE AFFORDABILITY, HEALTH CARE, FAMILY LEAVE, AND FAIR TAXATION. NSP'S CIVIC EDUCATION AND PARTICIPATION CAMPAIGN IS AIMED AT ACHIEVING THE LARGER GOAL OF ADDRESSING STRUCTURAL ISSUES LIMITING OPPORTUNITY AND ECONOMIC GROWTH. THIS PROGRAM FOCUSED ON INCREASING CIVIC PARTICIPATION IN HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED COMMUNITIES AND ENSURING THAT MINNESOTANS UNDERSTAND AND PARTICIPATE IN ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT, INCLUDING AT THE STATE LEGISLATIVE LEVEL, WHICH IN PART DUE TO NEWLY DRAWN DISTRICT LINES, IS COMMONLY MISUNDERSTOOD AND OVERLOOKED.(SEE CONTINUATION ON SCHEDULE O)(CONTINUED FROM PART III) NORTH STAR PROSPERITY AIMS TO CONNECT MINNESOTANS WITH INFORMATION REGARDING POLICY ISSUES AND TO ENSURE THAT MINNESOTANS CAN ENGAGE IN THE PROCESS THAT AFFECTS WORKING PEOPLE AND THE SOLUTIONS THAT COULD IMPROVE THEIR LIVES. NORTH STAR PROSPERITY USES VARIOUS OUTREACH EFFORTS TO ENGAGE WITH OUR AUDIENCE AND TO CONDUCT EDUCATION ON CORE ISSUES AND THE CIVIC PROCESS IN WHICH THESE ISSUES MAY BE ADDRESSED, INCLUDING ON OUR WEBSITE, DIGITAL ADS, MAIL, AND CANVASSING WHERE THE PUBLIC CAN LEARN ABOUT THEIR NEWLY DRAWN DISTRICT LINES.


POLITICAL PROGRAM: IN ORDER TO ADVANCE THE MISSION AND GOALS OF THE ORGANIZATION, NORTH STAR PROSPERITY RECOGNIZES THAT PUBLIC DECISION MAKERS HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL INFLUENCE ON ECONOMIC SECURITY ISSUES AND OUTCOMES. AS SECONDARY TO ITS PRIMARY PURPOSES OF CIVIC EDUCATION AND NONPARTISAN ISSUE ADVOCACY, NORTH STAR PROSPERITY ENGAGED A POLITICAL PROGRAM TO SUPPORT THE ADVANCEMENT OF ITS ISSUE AGENDA. EFFORTS INCLUDE GRANTS TO NSP'S AFFILIATED POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE WHICH WAS FORMED TO CARRY OUT AN EXPRESS ADVOCACY PROGRAM INTENDED TO EDUCATE VOTERS ABOUT CANDIDATES WHICH ALIGNED WITH NSP'S MISSION AND SHOWED COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING NSP'S POLICY AGENDA.


PUBLIC EDUCATION ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM: NORTH STAR PROSPERITY ENGAGED A PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAM FOLLOWING THE 2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION TO INFORM AND ELEVATE ECONOMIC ISSUES THAT WERE BEING CONSIDERED IN THE MINNESOTA STATE LEGISLATURE. NORTH STAR PROSPERITY IS COMMITTED TO ENSURING THAT MINNESOTANS ARE INFORMED ABOUT ECONOMIC SECURITY ISSUES AS WELL AS THE CIVIC INSTITUTIONS AND PROCESSES IN WHICH THESE ISSUES ARE ADDRESSED. THE PUBLIC EDUCATION ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM COVERED ECONOMIC SECURITY ISSUES INCLUDING CHILD CARE AFFORDABILITY, PAID FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE PROGRAMS, AND CORPORATE AND MEDICAL PRICE GOUGING. THIS PROGRAM ALLOWED NORTH STAR PROSPERITY TO PUBLICLY ELEVATE AND ADVANCE NSP'S ISSUE PRIORITIES AND TO ENGAGE WITH MINNESOTANS ABOUT ISSUES OF ECONOMIC SECURITY.
