WE ARE DEDICATED TO FURTHERING DIVERSE CAUSES AND THE GREATER WELL-BEING OF AMERICAN INDIANS, ALASKA NATIVES, NATIVE HAWAIIANS AND FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE IN THE CHICAGO AREA. WE SEEK TO MAXIMIZE EFFECTIVENESS BY CREATING A FORUM FOR FOSTERING MUTUAL AID, POLITICAL SUPPORT, POSITIVE PUBLIC RECOGNITION, STRATEGIC ALLIANCES, COLLABORATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS.

WITH THE MACARTHUR GRANT, CAICC IS ABLE TO BUILD THE CHICAGO NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY (CAICC) INTO A STRONGER VOICE AND INFLUENCE IN THE COUNTRY. THIS FUNDING IS HELPING CAICC BUILD AN ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY OUTREACH, BUILDING LEADERS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY SO WE CAN REACH THE FULL POTENTIAL TOWARD SERVING AS A UNIFIED VOICE IN ADVOCATING FOR OUR NEEDS AS A COMMUNITY.


WOODS FUND CHICAGO - NATIVE AMERICAN SUMMIT. THIS FUND HELPED US ACHIEVE OUR GOAL TO BE HEARD IN SPRINGFIELD, IL. WE ARE ABLE TO CREATE A REAL INFRASTRUCTURE TO BE AHEAD OF THE ISSUES, RENT VANS TO SPRINGFIELD AND PREP AND EDUCATE OUR COMMUNITY PROPERLY. WITH THIS FUND, WE EXPECT BETTER REPRESENTATION FOR NATIVE PEOPLE IN THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS, CONNECTING WITH OTHER NATIVE PEOPLE IN OTHER COMMUNITIES WHO HAVE HELPED CRAFT SIMILAR BILLS FOR NATIVE CAUSES, BUILDING LEADERS AND ACTIVISTS FOR THE NEXT GENERATIO, AND GREATER VOICE AND FAIR CHANCE FOR THE NATIVE PEOPLE.


COMMON CAUSE ILLINOIS - THIS GRANT ALLOWED US TO SUPPORT A PART-TIME FACILITATOR TO MANAGE THE ORGANIZATION.
