THE INSTITUTE FOR MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH (IMHR) AWARDS START-UP GRANTS TO RESEARCHERS EXPLORING NOVEL SOLUTIONS ACROSS THE FULL SPECTRUM OF MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES,FROM DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE, TO WELLNESS STRATEGIES AND NUEROLOGICAL SOLUTIONS. UTILIZING IMHR'S EARLY-STAGE FUNDING, SCIENTISTS ARE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE VALIDITY FOR NEW HYPOTHESES, AND GO ON TO ADVANCE INVESTIGATION BY OBTAINING MORE SUBSTANTIAL FUNDING FROM NATIONAL AGENCIES. IN ADDITION TO ITS GRANT MAKING FUNCTION, IMHR HELPS TO ACCELERATE TRANSLATION BY PRODUCING EDUCATIONAL EVENTS, DISSEMINATING RESEARCH FINDINGS, AND FOSTERING COLLABORATIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCIENTISTS, ACADEMICS AND PRACTITIONERS.
