NAMI UTAH IS ALSO INVOLVED IN SUICIDE PREVENTION EFFORTS STATEWIDE AND ARE ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THE STATE SUICIDE PREVENTION COALITION.

SUICIDE PREVENTION EFFORTS HAPPEN AROUND THE STATE OF UTAH WITH THE PREVENTION BY DESIGN PROGRAM, ADMINISTERED BY NAMI UTAH. NAMI UTAH STAFF CO-CHAIR THE STATE SUICIDE PREVENTION COALITION AND HELP FACILITATE LOCAL SUICIDE PREVENTION COALITIONS AROUND THE STATE. THESE COALITIONS IMPLEMENT PEER SUPPORTS, AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS AND INTERVENTION TRAINING.
EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDE NEEDED INFORMATION REGARDING MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS, AS WELL AS SUPPORT GROUPS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THESE SERVICES HELP GUIDE INTERVENTIONS AND PROMOTE WELLNESS AND RECOVERY.
MENTORS PROVIDE TELEPHONE SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS AND THEIR FAMILIES. STAFFED BY FAMILY MEMBERS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS, THEY PROVIDE TRUE PEER SUPPORT WHEN PEOPLE NEED A COMPASSIONATE EAR. MENTORS ALSO ADVOCATE FOR INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED IN LOCAL MENTAL HEALTH COURTS.
