ACEE DISTINGUISHES ITSELF AND HAS BEEN INVESTING IN TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR MORE THAN FOUR DECADES. EACH WELL PREPARED TEACHER HAS A MULTIPLIER EFFECT ON HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS EVERY YEAR. THE PANDEMIC HAS PRESENTED ARIZONA AN EVEN BIGGER CHALLENGE THIS YEAR AS IT PERSISTS AND TESTS THE RESILIENCY OF OUR EDUCATORS, PARENTS, AND STUDENTS. IN THE FACE OF LABOR AND TEACHER SHORTAGES AND STUDENT LEARNING LOSSES, THE ARIZONA COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION STEPPED UP SUPPORT TO STUDENTS IN FINANCIAL, SOCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING. THE ACEE SYSTEM, PARTNERSHIPS, AND SUPPORTERS BECAME STRENGTHENED AND MORE COMMITTED THROUGH THIS CHALLENGING TIME WITH OUR MISSION TO REACH AND TEACH ALL STUDENTS IN ARIZONA TO BECOME FINANCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY LITERATE. IN 2021, ALONG WITH OUR PROGRAM PARTNERS, ACEE PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TO 2,103 K 12 TEACHERS, REACHING 203,517 DIVERSE STUDENTS FROM 423 PUBLIC, CHARTER, TRIBAL, HOME, PRIVATE, AND JUVENILE DETENTION SCHOOLS STATEWIDE. EIGHTY PERCENT OF THE STUDENTS WERE FROM LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES LIVING IN 87 CITIES INCLUDING THE MOST REMOTE AND RURAL AREAS OF ALL 15 COUNTIES. ACEES REACH BECAME WIDER AND MORE DIVERSE, SERVING A RECORD 204 SCHOOL DISTRICTS, DOUBLING THE AVERAGE IN THE HISTORY OF ACEE. WE OFFERED 176 PROGRAMS TO MEET THE VARIOUS NEEDS AND DEMANDS OF SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS TO SERVE THEIR STUDENTS. THE NUMBER OF ACEE VOLUNTEERS INCREASED BY AN ASTOUNDING 86 PERCENT FROM LAST YEAR! IN ADDITION TO OUR MANY CURRENT STRONG PARTNERSHIPS, ACEE ESTABLISHED FORMAL AGREEMENTS WITH NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AS WELL AS CENTER FOR AMERICAN INDIAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO SERVE YOUTH FROM RURAL AND NATIVE LANDS IN FINANCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS.
