AFFORDABLE HOUSING: LCSA PROVIDED 88 HOUSING UNITS INCLUDING APARTMENTS, TOWNHOMES, AND SINGLE- FAMILY RESIDENCES FOR AFFORDABLE LONG-TERM HOUSING THAT IS SIGNIFICANTLY BELOW MARKET RENT. AFTER REACHING A LEVEL OF STABILITY AFTER HOMELESSNESS, MANY FAMILIES ACCESS PERMANENT HOUSING THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. FAMILIES MAY CONTINUE TO ACCESS CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES WHEN NEEDED TO MAINTAIN THEIR ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. DURING THE FY 2020-2021, THIS PROGRAM ASSISTED A TOTAL OF 141 ADULTS AND 223 CHILDREN. THESE FAMILIES HAVE ACCESS TO SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AS NEEDED INCLUDING FOOD AND CLOTHING, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES AND CONNECTIONS TO MAINSTREAM AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES.
SECURING HELP IN FAMILY TRANSPORTATION (SHIFT): THIS UNIQUE PROGRAM OFFERS LOW TO MODERATE INCOME HOUSEHOLDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN AN AGENCY MAINTAINED AFFORDABLE VEHICLE. LCSA SECURES AND MAINTAINS VEHICLES FOR UP TO 24 MONTHS ENABLING FAMILIES TO SEEK AND MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT WHILE AVOIDING PREDATORY CAR LENDERS AND DESTABILIZING MAINTENANCE COSTS. AFTER 36 MONTHS THE FAMILY OWNS THE VEHICLE OUTRIGHT. CORE TO THE SHIFT PROGRAM IS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND FINANCIAL STABILITY THAT INCLUDES RESUME WRITING, JOB SEARCH, BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL LITERACY CLASSES. DURING FY 2020-2021, 0 ADULTS RECEIVED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND FINANCIAL COACHING, DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND (ERF): THIS PROGRAM OFFERS VULNERABLE, LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS EXPERIENCING AN UNFORESEEN CRISIS WITH A ONE-TIME CASH ASSISTANCE TO MEET THEIR BASIC NEEDS. SITUATIONS SUCH AS EMERGENCY RENT/UTILITY ASSISTANCE, MEDICAL SERVICES, FOOD OR OTHER CRITICAL NEEDS ARE ADDRESSED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. DURING FY 2020-2021, 108 FAMILIES AVERTED CRISIS BY UTILIZING THIS FUND.
