THE MISSION OF THE ARIZONA MEDIA ASSOCIATION (AMA) IS TO INVEST IN PROJECTS THAT FUTUREPROOF ARIZONA LOCAL MEDIA AND PROTECT ITS CRITICAL ROLE IN COMMUNITY CONNECTION. THE AMA CURRENTLY REPRESENTS MORE THAN 350 STATEWIDE MEDIA BRANDS.

AWARDED $70,000 IN INTERSHIPS FUNDING TO HELP MEMBERS BUILD THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARIZONA LOCAL MEDIA LEADERS.ALLOCATED MORE THAN $100,000 TO OFFER EXPANDED LEGAL SUPPORT, LOBBYING, AND ARIZONA COURTROOM DEFENSE FOR SHARED LOCAL MEDIA NEEDS, INCLUDING ARIZONA PRESS FREEDOM DEFENSE.INVESTED $50,000 TO FUND STUDENT TRAINING PROGRAMS, CAREER FAIRS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS. THIS INCLUDED 5 CAREER FAIRS ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 50 MEMBER BRANDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. OUR TRAINING PROGRAMS WERE ALSO USED BY MORE THAN 100 MEMBERS.FORMALLY REDUCED MEMBER DUES BY 25% AND ADDED $100,000 IN NEW MEMBER SERVICES COMPARED TO PRIOR YEAR.DEDICATED $150,000 TO LAUNCH AN ARIZONA LOCAL NEWS FOUNDATION AND HELP CONNECT COMMUNITIES WITH MORE LOCAL NEWS AND INFORMATION.INVESTED $40,000 TO COMMISSION AN ARIZONA CONSUMER RESERCH STUDY OF 2023 MEDIA HABITS.SUPPORTED AN AMA WEBSITE CAREER PAGE, OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS, FOR LOCAL MEDIA JOBS. IN 2023, MORE THAN 275 JOBS WERE POSTED.SPENT $40,000 TO COMMISSION AN ARIZONA CONSUMER RESEARCH STUDY OF MEDIA HABITS ACROSS THE STATE.FUNDED $10,000 TO OFFER DIGITAL LIVE EVENTS AND TRAINING ABOUT SALES, MARKETING AND CONTENT COACHING, AND DIGITAL LIVE EVENTS. IN 2022, WE PROVIDED ONE-ON-ONE MEDIA SALES TRAINING FOR 10 NEW HIRES AT ABA MEMBER STATIONS.SUPPORTED ABA WEBSITE CAREER PAGE AVAILABLE TO ALL MEMBERS TO POST THEIR OPEN JOBS. IN 2022, 260 JOBS WERE POSTED.SENT OUT BI-WEEKLY EMAILS OUTLINING ASSOCIATION NEWS, EVENTS, INDUSTRY TRENDS AND KEY SERVICES.
