THE GIRL SCOUT LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE ENCOMPASSES SEVERAL FOUNDATIONAL ELEMENTS OF PROGRAMMING FOR THE 5,063 GIRL AND ADULT MEMBERS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF GIRL SCOUTS OF NEW MEXICO TRAILS, INC. WITH THE HELP OF SUPPORTIVE ADULT VOLUNTEERS, GIRL MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING IN THE AREAS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP, OUTDOORS, STEM, AND LIFE SKILLS. GIRL SCOUTS SELL COOKIES AS A FIRST INTRODUCTION TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP WHERE THEY LEARN FINANCIAL LITERACY, BUDGET MANAGEMENT, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. GIRLS ARE CHALLENGED TO BECOME GOOD STEWARDS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT THROUGH EXPOSURE TO CAMPING AND OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING. THEY PREPARE FOR CAREERS IN STEM BY LEARNING THE BASICS OF CODING, ROBOTICS, AND ENGINEERING, AND THEY GAIN CONFIDENCE TO BECOME ENGAGED CITIZENS THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE AND LESSONS ON DEMOCRACY, LEADERSHIP, AND PUBLIC SPEAKING.
