COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS PROJECT OF LONGMONT IS DEVELOPING, FACILITATING AND CONDUCTING THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: (A) EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS (70%): CCP LONGMONT DEVELOPS AND CONDUCTS CLASSES RELATED TO SPONSORED OR DEVELOPED AREAS OF FOCUS; FOR EXAMPLE, GARDENING CLASSES, DOG TRAINING CLASSES, ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CLASSES/INFORMATION, DIVERSITY AWARENESS CLASSES/INFORMATION, CIVIC PROJECTS AND EVENTS. (B) PROGRAMS IN SUPPORT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DIFFERING ABILITIES (10%): CCP LONGMONT HAS AN INCLUSIVE PHILOSOPHY. THE PROJECT ENCOURAGES AND MAKES POSSIBLE THE PARTICIPATION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES BY SPONSORING AND/OR DEVELOPING PROGRAMS THAT RESULT IN LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PARTICIPANT, INCREASED ACCESSIBILITY AND RESPITE CARE FOR FAMILIES. (C) COMMUNITY EVENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOCIAL EXCHANGE (10%): IT IS THE BELIEF/EXPERIENCE OF THE MEMBERS OF CCP LONGMONT THAT GETTING TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER IN RELAXED SETTINGS OFTEN LEADS TO BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF ONE ANOTHER AND AN INCREASE IN POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WHICH, IN TURN, BENEFITS THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE. SOCIAL EVENTS ARE OFFERED AND SPONSORED BY THE PROJECT. (D) COMMUNITY OUTREACH (5%): AS PROJECTS ARE IDENTIFIED, INFORMATION IS DISSEMINATED VIA A VARIETY OF MEDIUMS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: PERSON TO PERSON, GROUP PRESENTATIONS, SOCIAL MEDIA, NEWS ORGANIZATIONS, RADIO. (E) COMMUNITY EVENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDRAISING (5%): FROM TIME TO TIME, CCP LONGMONT HOLDS SPECIAL EVENTS IN ORDER TO RAISE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF ITS PROGRAMMING. EXAMPLES OF FUNDRAISING EVENTS MIGHT BE A DINNER, A CONCERT, A CLASS, THE SELLING OF MERCHANDISE OR A COMPETITIVE EVENT.
