HHSC OPERATES PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES IN THE STATE OF HAWAII. IN FURTHERANCE OF HHSC'S PURPOSES, AND TO LESSEN THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT, THE CORPORATION OPERATES A PHARMACY SERVING RURAL COMMUNITIES IN WEST KAUAI AND SUPPORTING KAUAI VETERANS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, A HOSPITAL OWNED AND OPERATED BY HHSC.

THE CORPORATION'S PRIMARY PROGRAM SERVICE IS TO OPERATE A PHARMACY SERVING RURAL COMMUNITIES IN WEST KAUAI AND SUPPORTING KAUAI VETERANS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, A HOSPITAL OWNED AND OPERATED BY HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATION (HHSC), THE 100% OWNED CONTROLLING ENTITY OF THE CORPORATION. THE OPERATION'S PHARMACY OPENED IN NOVEMBER 2021 AND THEREFORE ALL OF THE REVENUE AND EXPENSES INCURRED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021 WAS DERIVED FROM SERVICE CONTRACTS, START-UP PHARMACY COSTS AND EMPLOYMENT COSTS FOR PHARMACY TECHNICIANS AND PHARMACY ASSISTANTS. THE CORPORATION'S FUTURE OBJECTIVE IS TO BECOME A CRITICAL POINT OF ACCESS FOR MEDICATION PRESCRIPTION-FILLING IN THE WEST KAUAI REGION.
